My photo Hi! I am an assistant professor at the Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST) and a member of the Matsumoto Computational Linguistics Lab. I received my B.S. in 2003 from Rice University and Ph.D. in 2009 from the University of Washington, both in Electrical Engineering. My graduate work, generously supported by a National Science Foundation Fellowship Award, focused on semi-supervised learning for ranking problems. From 2009 to 2012, I worked on statistical machine translation at NTT CS Labs. In general, my research interests lie at the intersection of natural language processing and machine learning.

Update: I have moved to Johns Hopkins University. Click here for my new homepage.
